h1. Website Guides for Clubs and Services All SSMU clubs and services are encouraged to request website hosting on SSMU servers, and GMail hosted @ssmu.ca emails. Please fill in this "Wufoo Form":https://ssmu.wufoo.com/forms/z68h8hj0si20a2/ to get the process started. h2. Getting Started For all but the most tech savvy students and groups, Wordpress is recommended to get your group started with a website. Unless stated otherwise, you will be given access to a Wordpress site at a URL that takes the form .ssmu.ca. You will be contacted by someone in SSMU I.T who will provide you with the credentials you'll need to login and begin customizing the site. Prior to beginning work on your website, you should understand the following basics. * Have a clear objective of what you want your site to accomplish for your group. * Ensure your site's content can be easily updated by anyone in your group. * If you are completely new to creating websites, reach out to itsupport@ssmu.ca and request the assistance of a website developer. h2. Basics of Customization All Wordpress customization is done through adding or creating a *theme* and adding *plugins*. Themes affect the look and feel of your site, while plugins add special functionality to your site, like adding photo galleries, calendars, and forums. Note that if you are anticipating your site to be more visual, then you will need to choose a theme that is best suited for visual content. If the content will be more textual, you should choose a theme that works best for textual content.
